Ever since Prudential was founded as a loans and life assurance company in 1848, we have sought to democratise wealth by helping as many people as possible gain access to our products.
M&G Investments was established in 1931 with a similar mission to make the benefits of long-term savings more widely available, introducing the first mutual fund to the UK.
Prudential UK & Europe and M&G came together in 2017 and listed on the London Stock Exchange in 2019 as M&G plc, creating a new leader in savings and investments. Our purpose is to give everyone real confidence to put their money to work.
Our broad set of asset management capabilities allows us to offer customers a series of savings and investments solutions. Where appropriate, we combine this with our capital management expertise to align these solutions with our customers’ risk appetite.
Smoothed
solutions
In the UK, our PruFund proposition smooths some of the extreme short term ups and downs of the stock market to target long-term returns. PruFund is invested in our With-Profits fund, one of the largest in the UK. We offer PruFund in a variety of tax-efficient wrappers, including Individual Savings Accounts and Retirement drawdown.
Mutual
funds
M&G Investments introduced the first mutual fund to the UK in 1931 and we have been offering these pooled investments ever since. Today we have two ranges of mutual funds, one domiciled in the UK and the other in Luxembourg. Through these mutual funds, our clients have access to most asset types including government bonds, corporate credit, equities and property.
Segregated and pooled mandates
Our institutional clients often prefer bespoke investment strategies to meet their specific needs. As well as credit and equity portfolios, today we offer a range of multi-asset and private asset strategies such as leveraged loans and real estate. We also have a business specialising in infrastructure equity, Infracapital.
